Suet!

Did you take a guess on Wednesday?  If you guessed that it was a slab of beef suet, you were right!  I made my own frying tallow from it.  It's super easy to do.  I cut it into chunks and let it sit in the crock pot on low for 10 hours.  After that, I strained the liquid, put it in a jar, and let it solidify in the fridge.  There you have it.  Perfect for frying just about anything.  Such a yummy source of healthy fats!

Where'd you get your suet? Is it grass-fed?

I got it from my meat co op and yes, it is indeed grass fed. :)
